About us
Gajanan Maharaj UK Parivar Trust (GMUKPT) is a UK registered charitable company established by a group of ardent devotees of Shree Gajanan Maharaj. While the group has been active for last couple of years, this Trust was subsequently established to provide a formal structure around its charitable activities for better transparency and governance.
Our intent is to bring together other devotees as a family (Shree Gajanan Maharaj UK Bhakt Parivar) under one roof for worshipping our beloved Guru (Mauli) and carry out various spiritual and community services in line with the Mauli’s teachings.
The purpose of this website is to grow our Bhakta Parivar so that more and more devotees can join us and experience the tranquillity and positive energy Maharaj bestows on us and keep contributing back to the society. The website will publish details of our regular events, detail schedule so that wider community is aware of the activities. Besides this website our Volunteers are running various FB and WA groups to ensure better coordination between the Parivar volunteers.
Our Journey Blessed By Our Beloved Mauli
Our concept took shape around 2015, when a group of devotees came together for a monthly event called Naam Japa (Name chanting) / Upasana – initially in Scotland and then continued in London.
Soon after this, in 2016, our first major congregation happened in Maidstone, Kent, UK for the celebration of the ‘Prakat Diwas’ of our adored Maharaj.Since then, we meet every year on the auspicious day to remember our Maharaj. Parayan (A book depicting the life journey of our Maharaj) recital is also organized for the celebration.
In 2019, the formal structure was created, and the UK Charity Commissioner granted us charitable status in 2020.
In Feb 2020, with Mauli’s grace and blessings, we could place (Sthapana) Mauli’s idol in the Sai Temple at East Ham – the First Mauli Temple in the Europe – and celebrate Pragat Din Sohala.
During Covid lockdowns, our Parivar continued to provide all devotees a remotely accessible platform for on-going spiritual and charitable activities. We continued to do regular Upasana sessions which gave a lot of devotees much needed positivity and strength through Naam Jaap (name chanting).
Going ahead, our intent is to continue supporting and expanding the bhakta Parivar by providing devotees a better platform to engage spiritually, socially, culturally and contribute back to the community. We will create various core volunteer local groups across the UK to ensure the outreach of the Parivar.
We find ourselves very lucky to have volunteers from all walks of life, yet,our mission needs more manpower. We are looking for a strong support which can be offered in any form including volunteering in various projects, donations, spreading good words and expanding the Parivar - join our coregroup of Sevekaris.
