Maharastrian Mandir
मराठा तितुका मेळवावा
महाराष्ट्र धर्म वाढवावा ।।
Maharashtra, a state in the western part of India, has produced a large number of saints or sadgurus.
The function of the Sadguru is to give a push to all human beings towards spiritual evolution. For them religion or nationality never matter and they believe in treating all human beings equally and also in cherishing love for all animals.
Akkalkot Swami , Shegaon Gajanan Maharaj and Shirdi SaiBaba are such few of the most revered yogis or gurus from Maharashtra.
Also Warkari is a major tradition followed by Marathi Hindus. Vitthal, a form of Krishna, is a deity worshipped mostly in the Warkari tradition. Warkaris look upon God as the Ultimate Truth and accept ultimate equality among all human beings. Warkaris bow in front of each other because they believe god resides in everybody and as such believe in individual sacrifice, forgiveness, simplicity, peaceful co-existence, compassion, non-violence, love and humility in social life.
There are so many devotees around the country in the UK and Europe who love and follow Vitthal Rukmini and these saints, but there is no dedicated temple for them. So we plan to have a beautiful and divine temple in the UK (Greater London), which will be
the first Maharashtrian Hindu temple in the UK dedicated to deities and saints from Maharashtra.
This temple will serve as a hub of peace and devotion for all devotees, in line with the teachings of these deities and saints. This will provide everyone including our future generations a place to be part of spiritual, cultural and social activities. .
